چکیده

A unified technique for generating homogeneous/non-homogeneous, Gaussian/nonGaussian random fields defined on any subset of the multidimensional Euclidean space is provided. This is based on an approximate series representation valid for spatial random fields with arbitrary covariance function which can be readily realized. Furthermore, its applicability as a simulation tool is examined numerically by considering some examples that illustrate its feasibility and accuracy.

Cracking Elements Method for Simulating Complex Crack Growth

The cracking elements method (CEM) is a novel numerical approach for simulating fracture of quasi-brittle materials. This method is built in the framework of conventional finite element method (FEM) based on standard Galerkin approximation, which models the cracks with disconnected cracking segments. The orientation of propagating cracks is determined by local criteria and no explicit or implic...

A Survey on Simulating Stable Random Variables

In general case, Chambers et al. (1976) introduced the following algorithm for simulating any stable random variables $ X/sim(alpha, beta, gamma, delta) $ with four parameters. They use a nonlinear transformation of two independent uniform random variables for simulating an stable random variable... (to continue, click here)

Randomized Spectral and Fourier-Wavelet Methods for multidimensional Gaussian random vector fields

We develop some new variations of the Randomized Spectral Method (RSM) and Fourier-Wavelet Method (FWM) for the simulation of homogeneous Gaussian random vector fields based on plane wave decompositions. Some general conditions on the spectral density tensor of the random field which guarantee the theoretical convergence of the numerical representations are given. We then compare the various ra...

A Mass Conservative Method for Numerical Modeling of Axisymmetric flow

In this paper, the cell-centered finite volume method (CC-FVM) has been presented to simulate the axisymmetric radial flow toward a pumping well. The model is applied to the unstructured triangular grids which allows to simulate inhomogeneous and complex-shaped domains. Due to the non-orthogonality of the irregular grids, the multipoint flux approximation (MPFA) methods are used to discretize t...
